A bit about us: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in the Construction Industry. This is an on-site role, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM. Our standards and services are top-notch, we have over 50+ years of service in California.
This role is vital to the financial operations of our organization, ensuring that our hardworking employees are compensated accurately and on time. You'll be working closely with our accounting and payroll teams, managing all aspects of payroll processing for our union and non-union workforce. With your expertise in payroll and accounting, you will be an integral part of our financial management, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards while optimizing our payroll procedures.

Become a part of a dynamic team as a Permanent Payroll Specialist in the Construction industry! We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our company's payroll function. You will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments, including HR and finance, to guarantee accurate and timely payroll processing. Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire payroll process from start to finish, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including deductions, benefits, garnishments, and leave of absences.
- Process union dues, ensuring accurate deductions and payments to the appropriate union bodies.
- Utilize advanced data entry skills to input and manage large volumes of numeric data.
- Work closely with the HR department to manage new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
- Resolve any payroll discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Compile and prepare reports for management regarding payroll operations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide excellent customer service by handling and resolving payroll inquiries from employees.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Certification in Payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) is a major plus.
- Proficiency in union payroll processing is highly desirable.
- Exceptional numeric data entry skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Advanced data entry skills, including the ability to input, track, and manage large volumes of data.
- Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and payroll software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
- High degree of professionalism and strong ethical stance.
