POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Community-Based Program Provider (CBP Provider) delivers Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and Bounce Back services to students within a school setting (Training will be provided). This role requires a strong background in mental health, trauma-informed care, and experience working with children and adolescents. All required progress notes are expected to be written and submitted within 24 hours of session and reports in a timely manner and by their due dates. CBP Providers will be traveling to the school site assigned (though out the Bay Area) therefore, must have reliable transportation with insurance and a good driving record. Schedule will vary depending on School site, hours are flexible but expect to work Monday through Friday during school hours. CBP providers must attend all meetings required and must participate in weekly individual and group supervision with a Licensed Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  1. Must have a valid California Driver License and car insurance
  2. Must be able to pass all required tests and clearances (Live Scan (DOJ, FBI, Guardian) TB test, etc.)
  3. Direct care staff must be at least 21 years of age
  4. Enrollment in masters level or higher degree program in counseling psychology or social work AND registration in Practicum course as Trainee; OR Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) registration as AMFT or ASW.
  5. One year of experience working with children or youth in a mental health setting, particularly those who have experienced trauma.
  6. Experience with client assessment, treatment planning, and case management.
  7. Ability to diagnose and assess based on current DSM criteria.
  8. Friendly and personable communication style when interacting with school staff, client caregivers, and treatment team.
  9. Knowledge of Evidence Based Practices.
  10. Bi-Lingual (Spanish and Cantonese) preferred.
  11. Possess the ability to work with children that display severe maladaptive behavior.
  12. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  13. Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  14. Able to display excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritize tasks.
  15. Able to maintain a CBP caseload of 2 sites for P/T and/or 3 school sites for F/T positions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Provide CBITS and Bounce Back services to students in a school setting, promoting social-emotional learning and trauma resilience
  2. Conduct group and individual sessions with students, utilizing evidence-based practices and interventions
  3. Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and administrators to identify students in need of services and develop comprehensive support plans
  4. Work closely with families and caregivers to engage them in the treatment process and provide support
  5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, adhering to program requirements and standards
  6. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices in trauma-informed care and CBITS/Bounce Back services

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complete all required trainings as assigned
  2. Attend all mandatory meetings
  3. Meet regularly for individual oversight with supervisor(s)
  4. Other duties may be required as La Cheim continues its development. Employees are expected to be flexible and responsive to changes in the scope of duties.
  5. Understand and embody La Cheim's philosophy, organizational culture, and communication channels by practicing a collaborative approch
  6. Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor, Department Head, and/or CEO
