SPECIAL NOTES:
Four (4) or more years of professional examination, regulatory or compliance work experience relating to securities dealers, investment advisers, financial institutions, financial services companies, insurance companies is required. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for the years of required experience.
Preference s:
This position requires approximately 25-50% frequent/overnight travel and a current Driver’s License.
A writing sample may be requested.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
The anticipated salary for this position will be between $70,000.00 and $75,000.00. The salary may be commensurate with experience. This position may include the addition of a Competitive Area Differential (CAD) of $105.73 monthly/$1268.76 annually (Miami/WPB) or $53.73 monthly/$644.76 annually (Tampa), if applicable.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :
Will be highly proficient in all phases of securities and investment adviser examinations including review of securities dealers, investment advisers, associated persons, agents, and branch offices.
Performs complex enforcement examinations and investigations of securities dealers, investment advisers and agents relating to Chapter 517, Florida Statutes. Prepares and/or assists in writing reports detailing results of examinations and provides testimony under oath when needed.
Stays abreast of significant changes in the securities laws and regulations.
As requested by Division Training Staff/ Management, will assist in the training program for Examiners.
Responds to inquiries and provides technical advice and recommendations to field level management concerning the factual context of examinations, investigations, administrative and civil actions. Responds to inquiries by Department’s legal section concerning verification of evidence in examinations, investigations, administrative and civil actions. Includes testifying and serving as Departmental representative in hearings.
Performs other related work as required.
