About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Fabric Data Security Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and management of robust data security solutions leveraging the capabilities of Microsoft Fabric. Your deep expertise will be crucial in safeguarding sensitive data, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards and regulations, and maintaining a strong security posture for our clients.

Responsibilities:

Data Security Strategy Development: Architect, develop, and implement comprehensive data security strategies that are specifically tailored to address the unique needs and requirements of our clients within the Microsoft Fabric environment.
Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough and detailed risk assessments to proactively identify potential data security threats, vulnerabilities, and weaknesses within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem and related data pipelines.
Security Architecture Design: Design and deploy secure and scalable data architectures within Microsoft Fabric, incorporating critical security controls such as robust encryption mechanisms (at rest and in transit), granular access controls, and effective data masking techniques to protect sensitive information.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure that all implemented data security measures strictly adhere to relevant industry standards, data privacy regulations, and best practices, including but not limited to GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
Incident Response: Develop, implement, and maintain effective incident response plans and procedures to swiftly and efficiently address any data breaches or security incidents that may occur.
Security Audits: Plan, conduct, and oversee regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of the Microsoft Fabric environment to proactively identify and remediate any potential weaknesses or gaps in the data security infrastructure.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT departments, legal counsel, and compliance officers, to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to data security across the organization.
Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver comprehensive training and awareness programs to educate employees and key stakeholders on data security best practices, organizational security policies, and their individual responsibilities in maintaining a secure environment.
Documentation: Create and maintain meticulous and up-to-date documentation of all security protocols, procedures, configurations, and incident reports related to the Microsoft Fabric environment.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest advancements and emerging trends in data security technologies, methodologies, and threats, with a focus on Microsoft Fabric capabilities, to continuously evaluate and enhance the security posture of the organization.

Qualifications:

Proven experience (6-8 years) in designing, implementing, and managing data security solutions, with specific and demonstrable experience working with Microsoft Fabric security features.
In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices, frameworks, and architectures, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
Strong familiarity with a wide range of data privacy regulations and compliance standards, including but not limited to GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
Hands-on experience in conducting thorough security audits and vulnerability assessments of data systems and infrastructure.
Excellent understanding of security principles, including encryption, access controls, data masking, and identity and access management (IAM).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Security+) are a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
