The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking enthusiastic applicants for a per diem Pediatric Neurology position. 

This role offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality neurological care to infants, children, and adolescents at The Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital.

Candidate will provide on-call coverage for select nights and weekends. Responsibilities include handling telephone inquiries from ERs and hospital floors on assigned weeknights. Candidate will cover inpatient services on designated weekends, including inpatient rounding. Scheduling offers some flexibility, allowing the candidate to choose or coordinate coverage based on availability. 

Mount Sinai’s outstanding team of pediatric neurologists has specialized interests in epilepsy, movement disorders, stroke, neurobehavioral disorders, multiple sclerosis, and autoimmune encephalitis, as well as general pediatric neurology. The chosen candidate will provide high-quality care for patients with a broad range of complex neurological diseases and neurological manifestations of systemic illness.

Pediatric neurology faculty teach adult neurology and pediatric residents, pediatric neurology fellows, and medical students at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai while on call. 

Responsibilities

  • Handle telephone inquiries from ERs and hospital floors on weeknights
  • Provide on-call coverage during nights and weekends 
  • Cover inpatient services on weekends, including inpatient rounding
  • Provide teaching and mentorship to residents, fellows, and medical students

Qualifications

  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the State of New York
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Neurology
  • Committed to Mount Sinai and the communities we serve
  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
  • A strong work ethic and desire to develop clinical programs with the full support of our division.

Compensation is based on experience and per diem rates, which vary by shift and weekday/weekend coverage. For reference, the full-time equivalent salary ranges from $210,000 to $350,000, excluding bonuses, incentive compensation, and benefits.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
