**That's Nice, But What's the Job?**
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will serve as a technical and architectural lead, collaborating closely with a diverse team of data engineers, software engineers, analysts, and data scientists. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure in a hybrid environment consisting of on-premises SQL Server, Kafka, Argo, Informatica, SSIS, and Snowflake.
+ Lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and efficient data flow across various systems and platforms.
+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that drive actionable insights and business value.
+ Architect and implement solutions for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics, leveraging technologies such as Kafka, Segment, Argo, SQL Server, SSIS, and Snowflake.
+ Drive best practices in data engineering, including data modeling, optimization, and performance tuning, to ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability of the infrastructure.
+ Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and analytics, evaluating their potential impact and relevance to our environment.
+ Actively participate in architectural discussions, technical design reviews, and strategic planning sessions to shape the future direction of our data platform.
+ Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, proactively identifying and addressing any performance issues, bottlenecks, or data quality concerns.
**The Specifics.**
+ 8+ years of experience in data engineering or similar role
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
+ Extensive experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on designing and building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
+ Proficiency in working with on-premises SQL Server, Kafka, Argo, SSIS, and Snowflake, along with a solid understanding of cloud-based data technologies.
+ Strong programming skills in languages utilized for data engineering such as Python, SQL, Java, Scala with experience in scripting, automation, and data manipulation.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of data engineers and drive technical initiatives to successful completion.
