About the team and the role:

eBay is seeking a seasoned communications expert to lead brand public relations efforts. This role focuses on crafting and driving overarching brand storytelling, with an emphasis on key verticals such as fashion, collectibles, and motors. The ideal candidate will be adept at weaving compelling narratives that enhance eBay's brand presence and resonate with diverse audiences.

What you will accomplish:

• Define and Drive Consumer Narrative: Shape eBay’s consumer narrative and value proposition, with a focus on key verticals. Demonstrate an understanding of the nuances within each category while maintaining the bigger picture view of the business.

• Develop Integrated Strategies: Create and implement integrated strategies and campaigns that go beyond traditional PR, effectively increasing marketplace consideration through earned media.

• Collaborate with Marketing and Business Units: Partner seamlessly with eBay’s marketing and business units, providing strategic counsel and fostering strong partnerships.

• Work with PR and Vertical Teams: Collaborate closely with eBay’s consumer PR team, vertical leads, and corporate and employee teams to ensure alignment and synergy.

• Manage Global Agency Partners: Lead all aspects of global agency partners to implement milestone campaigns successfully.

• Build Press Relationships: Foster and maintain relationships with key press across lifestyle, fashion, and other relevant categories.

What you will bring:

• Demonstrated Experience: Ten to twelve years of consumer public relations/communications experience, preferably with both global corporation and agency backgrounds.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally and across multiple time zones, maintaining positive relationships with key business partners in a dynamic team environment.

• Strategic Insight: Ability to connect business initiatives to create newsworthy content and identify industry trends where eBay can lead as an innovator.

• Proven Success in Communications: A track record of creating and driving successful communications strategies and campaigns that align with business goals.

• Media Relations Expertise: Demonstrated ability to pitch and place proactive media stories and manage press inquiries to enhance eBay’s brand narrative.

• Influential Collaboration: Success in collaborating with and influencing diverse business partners, including senior-level and C-suite executives, in a highly matrixed organization.

• Strong Media Relationships: Excellent relationships with consumer media.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
