Amazon Corporate Security Devices & Services Physical Security (DSPS) is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, corporate security leader who embodies Amazon’s Leadership Principles, in particular, Customer Obsession, Ownership, Earn Trust, and Bias for Action, to join the team as a Regional Prototype Security Manager. The Regional Prototype Security Manager will lead and manage physical security policy and intellectual property (IP) protection best practice implementation for our Amazon Devices & Services partners and stakeholders in the Pacific Northwest and Canada.
This position is responsible for the delivery and oversight of the day-to-day physical security operations that relate to Devices & Services sites, workspaces, storage locations and labs across multiple buildings in a highly ambiguous and dynamically fluid environment. The Regional Prototype Security Manager is responsible for protecting Amazon IP by ensuring Amazon prototype devices and software are developed, handled, moved and stored in accordance with approved policies, standards, and procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring that these processes are up-to-date and align with corporate and business security requirements. This position involves working closely with broader Amazon Corporate Security team members throughout the Americas region, as well as facilities, physical security design, EHS and other teams involved in the management of prototype tracking, spaces management, moves, and compliance and destruction.
Key job responsibilities
•Lead and support the deployment of a comprehensive physical security plan to protect Amazon Devices & Services (D&S) across the Pacific Northwest and Canada, including Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle, WA
•Assist in the design, development, and implementation of physical security operations for all D&S spaces including security design reviews, post-occupancy projects, partnership with ACS Guard Force, logistics processes, standards, policies, and procedures
•Provide thorough and detailed daily support to D&S site related issues such as security design trouble tickets, secure storage needs, moves, access control modifications
•Partner with cross functional security peers to develop and implement appropriate policies to meet the needs of the D&S business teams
•Partner closely with developers, program managers, and other operational teams and partner organizations to identify and document security issues that can be addressed by shared infrastructure and procedures
•Work closely with ACS Regional and Area Security Managers to understand security issues at the site level and promptly escalate any impact to the D&S program teams
•Work cross functionally with peers in SCIPS, Legal, Hardware, Supply Chain Ops, Trade & Compliance, EHS, D&S business lines, and Amazon Security to establish scalable physical security standards
•Actively evaluate, analyze, and use metrics collected to proactively inform programmatic needs and policy decisions
•Proactively audit and identify security gaps at D&S locations
•Manage audit action items to close, working under tight duration guidelines
•Continually foster strong cross-functional relationships to drive business engagement and execution of security objectives and goals, serving as an internal champion for security operations
•Travel to various sites to review and audit security infrastructure and support onsite security awareness initiatives and events
•Be the trusted security advisor and subject matter expert in the assigned area of responsibility, through high quality communication and excellent briefing skills
•Implement and improve security plans, policies, and programs
•Respond to customer security concerns
•Earn trust through key customer and stakeholder engagements, and liaison with external partners
•Communicate accurately and in a timely manner with stakeholders at the tactical and strategic level
•Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for several hours a day, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Criminal Justice, Security, Law Enforcement, Business Management, Accounting, International Relations or equivalent professional experiences
•Minimum 7 years’ experience in a security related field in a global corporate environment or large-sized organization (e.g. NGO, public sector, police, or military)
•Writing, reviewing, and publishing security standards and standard operating procedures
•Ability to work in an in-office environment with a required physical presence in the office in Seattle, WA
